National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project (NCRMP) is a Government of India-World Bank Assisted project to be implemented in 13 States including Orissa.
Orissa State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA) under Revenue and Disaster Management Department , Govt of Orissa is the Nodal Agency to implement the project.
The project will be funded by Government of India as a Grant to the State through National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
The project has following four components-

Component A- On last mile connectivity i.e. VHF connection to villages within 2-5 km of sea shore-100% grant by GoI.

Component-C- On Capacity building activities- By Gopabandhu Academy Of Administration- 100% Grant by GoI

Investment Proposal involving a cost of Rs.609.40 crore for Orissa under Component-B was submitted to National Disaster Mitigation Authority (NDMA)
NDMA requested to limit our proposal to around Rs.400.00 crore under Component-B.
Project Cost for Orissa under Component -B has been revised to Rs.441.00 crore (75% Central grant and 25% State share).
Project implementation period is three years (2009-10 to 2011-12).
The project will be implemented in the coastal districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri & Ganjam and parts of Khurda adjoining the Chilika Lake.

NDMA has sanctioned Rs.3.28 crore and placed Rs.1.65 crore with OSDMA for preparation of Detail project Report,
OSDMA and the line departments are in the process of preparing the documents.
State Project Steering Committee in its meeting on 24.11.08 under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary approved the revised allocation for different components.
Sri C.V. Shankar, Project Director, NCRMP, NDMA and Dr. G.S.G. Ayyangar, Joint Secretary, NDMA visited Bhubaneswar on 27.11.098 and reviewed the progress under NCRMP in Orissa.
Gen. N. C. Vij, Vice-Chairman, NDMA during his visit to Orissa on 14.12.08 had a discussion with Hon’ble Chief Minister, Orissa on implementation of the project.
