An Inter-Ministerial Central Team led by Shri Vivek Bharadwaj, Additional Secretary (PM), Ministry of Home Affairs visited Odisha today on 21.06.2019 for on the spot assessment of situation in the district of Puri in the wake of Extremely Sever Cyclonic Strom FANI.
The team comprised Shri Vivek Goel, Chief Engineer, Ministry of Power, Shri Ajaya Kumar, Director, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Shri Amrish Pal Singh, Superintending Engineer (Coord), Ministry of Water Resources, Dr. Virendra Singh, Director, Department of Agriculture Cooperation and Farmer’s Welfare, Shri Rakesh Kumar, Regional Officer, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Shri S.S Modi, Deputy Secretary, Department of Rural Development, New Delhi.
The team visited the cyclone affected areas of Puri District and assessed the restoration work and interacted with the community members.
They also had discussion with Collector, Puri and other district level officers on assessment of damage caused due to the cyclone.
The team also had a wrap-up meeting with Chief Secretary and other Secretaries of different departments at the State Secretariat today evening.
The Commissioner-cum-Secretary (DM), Special Relief Commissioner, Bishnupada Sethi appraised the team about the damage caused to different sectors due to the cyclone Fani.
The team appreciated the State Government efforts for quick relief and restoration work.
